My Story

I'm a hand-written notes, hopeless romantic, "in my feelings"  kind of person. I gravitate to black and white photos for the emotion behind them. No distraction of colors to set the mood, just genuine human emotion, good and bad.

I see the world in shapes, moods and sounds - in the drive in someones eyes and in the piece of art that's just starting to take shape. I think the fact that all artists start with a blank canvas every day is truly inspiring - that musicians start with a mood, blank sheet of paper or a few chords, and a dancer starts with a piece of music. Capturing the feeling of the moment in a piece of art and sharing that with the world is such a scary, brave, and beautiful thing.

From a little town in Ohio, my first passion was dance. I grew up in a dance studio. After high school, I stayed very involved in the dance and theater world. I have been a dance instructor and choreographer since 2006, teaching jazz and lyrical, and choreographing large scale musicals. In 2014, I moved to Nashville to work with a competitive dance company. My favorite thing is choreographing pieces with emotion on dancers with passion. My dance background feeding my love for dance photography, backstage moments, and performances.

Self-taught, and always ready to learn more. I have lived my whole life with my camera over my shoulder. From bringing my camera to work and shooting dance classes, to family lake days, concerts and traveling with friends, I want to hold on to memories and the people I love any way I can. That has always been the fuel for my fire.

Let me capture your memories for you.
